Important Traffic Changes Around Grace
Weekdays - Providence Road Construction
Has moved back to weekdays from 9am-2pm. If you are coming to Grace during those times on Monday-Friday, the back gate is always accessible. For details on how to access the main entrance, see our more detailed instructions and map HERE
Sunday, October 4 - Delco 10 Miler
Sunday, October 4th is the second annual Delco 10 miler. If you remember last year they blocked off all of Providence Road from Rose Tree Park down into Chester, making it hard to access the main entrance of the church. This year they have changed the route to go around us and St. Johns, leaving Providence Road and the main entrance free. But it does mean the route will loop around the back of the church. There will be rolling road closures between 7am and 11am, with cross traffic controlled by police at main intersections. You can see the full route HERE so you can plan your best approach to getting to Grace that Sunday.
Alpha Course
Gathering Interest - Contact Pastor Mark
Alpha is a safe place to ask some of the deepest questions of life, faith and meaning. It is a free, interactive series of 11 sessions designed to help people explore the basics of the Christian faith in a relaxed, open, and non-judgmental environment. Everyone is welcome, regardless of beliefs. We have a meal together, then watch a video together that helps us to discuss the issues we each face in our lives. Everyone and all questions are welcome!
This is designed for those in the community as well as those in the church. If you or anyone you know might have an interest contact Pastor Mark. We are considering starting a group later in September if there is interest. Possibly Wednesday nights.
Recap Women’s Group Starts the New Testament
Kick-off Get Together - Friday, October 2 at 7pm
We would love to have new and returning Bible readers join us for the New Testament reading plan through the end of 2026. We will have a kick off get-together Friday, October 2 at 7:00pm (at the Gliko's Home) and monthly Saturday morning gatherings for fellowship and discussion (at Grace)
This is a low pressure way to develop a Bible-reading habit, learn about God’s character, and embrace opportunities to meditate on Scripture with other women. Grace is a given for self-pacing with the reading plan and all are welcome!
See Danielle Gliko or Kathy Schmit for details or find the group on the Church app below.

Did You Know?
Part of a series of fun facts from the first100 years of Grace
Our First Church was in a House in Chester!
The new Church in Chester met first in an apartment on West 7th Street. They then moved into a house on West 7th that they renovated into a church building. The Gospel Heralds in Chester were under the leadership of Webster Stengele. As they grew into a more established church they came under the leadership of Brother Eugene George, who led the church for many years. Brother George especially liked working with the youth, which would bear fruit as these children then became Herald's themselves, including names like the Kirkwood’s, the Reichenbach’s, the Griest’s and the Hartzell’s.
Coming Next Week: One of the first baptisms of this new church included the mother and aunt of a current member of Grace! Can you guess who? Pictures coming next week!
