Elizabeth Piasecki

I wanted to share an update on where I am in my journey toward full-time cross-cultural ministry, as well as a few other things happening in life! First, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the prayers, encouragement, and support so many of you have given me along the way. It means a lot to know that I have people walking alongside me as I seek to discern where the Lord is leading me.

A Vision Trip to Paraguay!

I have some exciting news: I’ve decided to take my vision trip to Paraguay , and it’s coming up soon! I’ll be leaving on October 23 and returning on November 1 .

This wasn’t a simple decision. I had several good options for places to visit, including one that was especially near and dear to my heart. But through the Lord’s unique direction and provision, I’ve decided to visit Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, to explore whether it might be the place where He is calling me to serve. He’s faithfully teaching me to be quick to ask others for prayer and seek advice from wise counsel.

During this trip, I hope to get a better sense of what life there would look like, how I might fit into the ministry team, and whether the ministry itself aligns with the Lord’s calling for me. I’m excited to see what I’ll learn and how the Lord will use this experience to guide my next steps.

A New Partnership with the BFC Board of Missions

In other exciting news: I’ve been approved by the BFC Board of Missions to serve as a missionary through my church’s denomination! I’m thankful for this opportunity and excited about what it will mean for the next steps in this process. As I move toward full-time ministry, raising financial and prayer support will be an important part of the journey.

This partnership will allow me to connect with and visit other churches within the denomination, sharing what the Lord is doing and inviting others to partner with me in the work He leads me to. Praise the Lord for providing this opportunity and for the ways He continues to open doors!

Other Life Updates

I’m also thankful that the school year is going well! I’m enjoying teaching part-time this year. Having some additional time to rest and recharge has been a gift, allowing me to be more refreshed and intentional in my work with my students. We recently had our high school retreat, which was a wonderful time for students and teachers to build relationships and grow closer together. I’m grateful to be part of a school community where I can continue investing in students’ lives.

Another exciting opportunity is coming up in November: I’ll be speaking at my church’s youth retreat! I’ll be sharing truths from Romans 8, and I would appreciate your prayers as I prepare. I don’t take lightly the opportunity to speak into the lives of young people, and I want to communicate God’s Word faithfully and help students understand and apply its truths to their lives.

Here are a few specific ways you can be praying for me as I take these next steps.

PRAISES!

  • That through the generosity of my church and a few other individuals, my vision trip is fully funded!
  • That this school year is off to a good start.
  • That I was accepted by the BFC Board of Missions
  • Seeing Tim, Audrey, and Hannah, as well as many other friends (including meeting my friend’s new baby!), on my recent trip to Cedarville.

Vision Trip Prayer Requests

  • Pray for clarity and wisdom as I discern whether Ciudad del Este is where the Lord is leading me to serve long-term.
  • Pray for meaningful conversations with the missionary team and discernment for both them and me as we consider whether I would be a good fit for the team and its ministry.
  • Pray that I would grow in my understanding of Paraguayan culture, daily life, and the needs of the local community.
  • Pray for an open heart, a willingness to learn, and a readiness to follow the Lord's leading, whatever the outcome.
  • Pray for safe travels, good health, and energy throughout the trip.

General Requests

  • For spiritual growth while I take a Gospel Foundations course with other people in World Team.
  • For wisdom in preparation for speaking at my church’s youth retreat.
  • That I continue to build meaningful relationships with my students.
  • That I would balance work, life, and my World Team preparation well.
  • For continued spiritual growth and a deepening joy in the Lord.
  • For even more opportunities for gospel witness and discipling.
  • For meaningful, quality time with friends and family while I am still in the United States.

Thank you again for being part of my life and for supporting me as I navigate this season of discernment and preparation. Whether you’ve prayed for me, encouraged me, or simply taken an interest in what the Lord is doing, I’m grateful. I’m looking forward to seeing how He continues to lead and provide in the months ahead!
